There are two ways I see that this can be accomplished.
#1 Apply a BW gradient as a transparency map to the cone.
If you are using
transparency for your cone, use object disolve instead.
Or
#2 Cap off you cone with a hemisphere and apply edge
transparency to the hemisphere.

Oh, and I have a request....
I though I archived the information I'm about to ask, but I
can't find it.
There was a discussion about problems with the print
resolution, square pixels,
segment memory, and how to figure RAM needs to use.
If someone would please mail me this info I would be
